The international bestseller – a must-have for sports cars enthusiasts – was already sold more than 30,000 times and is now available in a revised and updated version. In his books, René Staud grants sex appeal to lifeless objects. The introduction of the Porsche 901 at the IAA 1963 marks a milestone in the history of automotive industry. Hence, Peugeot held the patent on the 0 in the middle of type descriptions the name had to be changed at short notice. But even that didn’t stop the triumph of the 911 on his way to become a sports car icon. The success story extends from the archetype via the Carrera 2.7 RS – the fastest serial car of its time with the characteristic rear spoiler, the so called “Entenbürzel” – to the current Generation 911. There is no other car that transports the evolution of driving in his most beautiful existence, in a more consequent way than the first 911 in the 70ties up to the present day 911. And many of them accompanied me in a very close way – in professional-, but also in private life. 50 years later, when I started building the present monument for the 911, I really thought that – from a photographical point of view – it would be done with 25 icons, starting in 1967. Eventually, I ended up with more than 100 cars just because I didn’t want to miss a single important one. If I would have had the possibility to show every car that would have deserved the honor, I would have ended up with more than a Million 911s.
